Zune HD 32gb, Rest in Peace

Today was a huge bummer, because my Zune HD has been crashing for a while.  I figured I would try to restore my Zune to factory state and see what I could do about fixing those crashes.  It turns out that my Zune is having some larger issues, I’m guessing specifically related to the flash memory. My Zune is no longer connecting to my computer, and I’m guessing it’s finally dead.  I … [Read more...]

Planning the Car Purchase/Finances

I have started to research the car buying process, and it has become time for me to set up and plan exactly what cars I’m going to be looking at, how I’m going to save, and the timeframe for everything. I’m looking for a compact car or a midsize car that gets good mileage.  Specifically, I’m looking for a car that will average around 38 miles per gallon.  The cars that I have narrowed … [Read more...]

Make money online selling your goods or services

My girlfriend’s roommate, Christine, has started an Etsy store to market her handmade goods. This started to get me thinking about how easy it is to make money off of small goods online, specifically specialty services and goods.  As a sidenote, Christine makes some pretty great things, so please check out her Facebook Page and her Etsy page. If you are talented at crafts, you should … [Read more...]

The returns of putting effort into life.

Raise your hand as high as you can. Now raise it two inches higher. THAT’S WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOUR LIVES! -George N. Parks This quote always makes me think, especially as we’re nearing the end of the term here at school.  It worries me how little effort that people want to put into life.  Is this what society is coming to? We as humans, are becoming lazier and lazier.  Very few … [Read more...]

Biology Recap 1/10, 1/11, 1/12

In the double block this week, we used microscopes to look at two different types of cells.  We used Compound Light Microscope to view Elodea (Plant) cells, and Human Cheek (Animal) cells.  There is a particular way to use the microscope.  We received the microscopes with the stage lowered, and the scan objective selected. You carried the microscopes back to your seats with one hand … [Read more...]

So Busy!

Today was my 24th Birthday, and I’ve been doing a lot of work all day!  I almost forgot about my post for the day, but I figured I should keep to this resolution.  It’s funny how when you get a year older, you don’t feel any different.  It seems like you seem more different at the end of the year, reflecting on all that you’ve accomplished that year. I feel like I’ve accomplished a … [Read more...]

2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid Debut

The news all over the internet was that the 2013 Ford Fusion and the different models.  While I think it’s important to me that plug-in hybrids exist, they aren’t going to do much until the United States decides to take them seriously and build an infrastructure behind plugs.  We need plugs on major interstates, at our jobs, and at places where we shop. Most disappointingly, I was left … [Read more...]

Biology Recap- 1/9/2012

I’m starting a daily Biology recap about what I covered in Biology class.  We covered some major themes, including unicellular (one-celled) versus multicellular (more than 1 cell).  Most multicellular organisms are made of many specialized cells. The next theme we talked about was Cell Theory.  Cell theory is made of two main facets: Cells are the units of structure and … [Read more...]

Goals if I win the HGTV Dream Home 2012

The HGTV dream home 2012 was unveiled a week ago, and is located in Midway, Utah.  The home looks nice, but small, and would be an awesome prize to whoever wins it.  In addition to winning the home, you also get $500,00 and a new GMC Terrain.  Sounds like a great prize, and Lauren and I have made a pact if we win. First off, we’d buy an RV so that during the summer we can travel … [Read more...]
