Moodle as a social tool

I’ve been using Facebook as a learning tool for a while.  I originally started using Facebook as a way to pass on homework, as I wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to go with Facebook.  I use a Facebook page for my class, and do not accept friend requests from students.  The Facebook page allows me to reach students in their homes.

I’ve now started asking “Questions of the Day” to further reach students at home.  I don’t always get responses, but I do more frequently than not.  I am now deciding the future of how I am going to use that Facebook page to promote education at home, and specific 21st century skills.

I am planning on integrating Moodle with my Facebook page.  Specifically, I will start posting links to resources that I add to the page when I add them, to cross promote the Moodle page and reach more students in content at home.  I’ll keep you updated on my progress as I begin this transition.
